Hurricane IDA hit New Orleans on Aug. 29, 2021, 16 years to the day since Hurricane Katrina. Ida was no Katrina, but it still knocked out power, caused major flooding and wind damage, and brought the normal bustle of the French Quarter to a stop. In the aftermath as we waited for power to be restored, some people left town. Some cleaned up. Some fixed. Amzie painted.
